Anthony J. "Tony" Wychunis, age 73, of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 25, 1952, the son of the late Anthony J. and Dolores (Cardy) Wychunis.
Tony lived most of his life in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. He was a talented Photographer and Professor of Photography at Philadelphia Community College. He also enjoyed carpentry and cooking.
Tony honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
He was the husband of the late Eileen (Doyle) Wychunis.
He is survived by his daughter, Shana (Joe) Miller; three sons, Justin (Angela) Wychunis, Zach (Melissa) Wychunis and Peter (Melissa) Wychunis; brother, Billy Wychunis; and grandchildren, Elizabeth, Autumn, Asher, Liam, Camilla, Lucy, Norah, Lucas & Alaina. He is also survived by faithful neighbors who were very important to him.
His Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM from McIlvaine Mundy Funeral Home & Crematory, 7384 Ridge Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19128. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home.
Interment will take place at a later date in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
