Benjamin C. Diccion, age 82, of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
He was born in San Manuel, Philippines on October 29, 1943, the son of the late Julian R. and Ismaela (Cerezo) Diccion.
Benjamin immigrated to the United States in 1972 and lived in the Germantown section of Philadelphia before moving to Andorra, where he has resided for 46 years. He was an avid gardener and was immensely proud of his home. Prior to his retirement, he had a long career as a Civil Engineer.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Perla Bonita Diccion of Philadelphia; son, Benjamin B. (Aileen) Diccion, Jr. of Levittown; daughter, Bernadette Diccion (Joshua Marquit) of Ambler; five sisters, Elvira (Benjamin) de los Santos, Erlinda Nisperos, Carmelita Nisperos, Estrella (Romeo) Gampon and Sor. Lolita Diccion, OSC; and two sisters-in-law, Lily Diccion and Angelita Diccion. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Brianna (Damien) Smeltzer, Cerezo Diccion, Matthew Diccion, Gianna Dipple and Connor Dipple; two great grandsons, Westley and Koa; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Ben was preceded in death by five siblings, Lydia Marin, Floro Diccion, Reynaldo Diccion, Rolly Diccion and Baltazar Diccion.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary RC Church, 819 Cathedral Road, Philadelphia, PA 19128. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Thursday evening, July 23 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McIlvaine Mundy Funeral Home & Crematory, 7384 Ridge Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19128 and on Friday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Church prior to Mass.
Interment will take place in George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, PA.
The family would appreciate memorial contributions made in Benjamin’s name to: The National Kidney Foundation or Longwood Gardens.
