Catherine E. Chemerys, age 81, of Sicklerville, NJ passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
She was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 23, 1944, the daughter of the late Victor and Catherine (Meade) Chemerys.
Catherine raised her family in the East Falls section of Philadelphia where she was a parishioner of St. Bridget's RC Church. She enjoyed trips to Sanibel Island, FL. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, James M. Burke of Sicklerville, NJ; two daughters, Karyn Yocum of Egg Harbor City, NJ and Robyn Kephart of Ventnor, NJ; two sisters, Gail Hurd of Washington, DC and Victoria Chemerys of Philadelphia, PA; four grandchildren, James (Valerie) O'Neill, Bryana (Joseph) Krulikowski, Kristina Yocum (Colton Ackerman), and Shannon Collins; two great granddaughters, Gabrielle O'Neill and Makayla O'Neill, and one great grandchild on the way.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tara Mari Guirate.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 20 at 7:30 PM at the McIlvaine Mundy Funeral Home & Crematory, 7384 Ridge Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19128. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be private in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
