Francis J. Fisher, “Frank”, age 77, of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 16, 1948 and raised in Maternity BVM Parish. He was the son of the late Frank D. and Mary (Daly) Fisher.
A lifelong resident of Philadelphia, Frank raised his family in St. Cecilia’s Parish in Fox Chase before moving to Center City, where he was a member of Old St. Joseph’s Parish. He has lived in Roxborough for over ten years and was a devout parishioner of St. Philip Neri Parish in Lafayette Hill, PA.
Frank worked as the Deputy Commissioner for the City of Philadelphia while teaching night classes at LaSalle University. Following his time with the city, he became a full time Professor of Finance at LaSalle. He later worked in private business. He earned his private pilot’s license and loved to fly. He rowed on the Schuylkill River with the Penn AC and Bachelors Clubs, and officiated a regatta. Frank was a talented athlete. In high school, he swam and played water polo for LaSalle High School. He also enjoyed golfing and playing softball.
Most importantly, he was a devoted and loving husband of 53 years to his late wife, Susan M. Fisher (née Gregory). He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer (Timothy) Matthews of Horsham and Mary Kate (Todd) Irwin of Abington; son, Brian Fisher (Melissa Gold) of Collegeville; sister, Mary "Bunny" (Dennis) Conlen of Telford, and five grandchildren, Emma & CJ Franklin; and Colin, Gavin and Charlotte Fisher.
Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Fisher.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM from St. Philip Neri RC Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church.
Interment will take place in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Philip Neri RC Church at the above address.
