Giovanna B. Mandracchia entered into her eternal life with Jesus on January 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was 75 years old, and was born on November 12, 1950, to Sebastian and Yolanda (Speranza) Anastasi in Philadelphia. She is survived by her husband Patrick J. Mandracchia; daughter Christen M. Mandracchia; son Thomas C. Mandracchia; daughter-in-law Jessica T. Jerusik; grand-doggy Randall; in-laws Paul and Gayle Mandracchia, and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She grew up in Philadelphia and attended Abraham Lincoln High School and Temple University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theater and Communications. Subsequently, she performed in local community theaters; served as a Hearing Examiner in paternity cases for the Family Division of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas; worked several years at the Philadelphia Probation Department in the Planning, Research, and Public Relations Department; and, more recently, was employed as a Receptionist at her parish, the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Rectory.
Giovanna became a faithful follower of Jesus Christ in the Catholic Charismatic Movement, where she met her husband in 1986. They were married on May 9, 1987, at St. Dominic’s Church in Philadelphia. She was a woman of faith who loved prayer, Scripture, and the Eucharist. She was active at Visitation BVM parish, serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, a Lector, a member of the choir, and assisting her husband with his responsibilities as a Deacon.
Giovanna was a legendary cook known for entertaining friends and relatives with her culinary skills. She enjoyed travelling, visiting museums and historic sites, listening to the Beatles and reading historic and mystery novels. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her. “Enter my Father’s Kingdom …. good and faithful servant”. Matt. 25:21.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM from Visitation B.V.M. Church, 196 N. Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403.
Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church prior to Mass.
Interment will take place in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Norriton, PA.
