Helen J. Weigand, age 101, of Philadelphia, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
She was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 30, 1924, the daughter of the late Nisio and Viola (Colman) Moscoloni.
Helen has been a resident of Paul's Run Retirement Community for three years, formerly of Moro Street in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. She was a devout Catholic and faithful parishioner of St. Dominic’s Church.
Helen had a career working in Sales and Service for the former Wanamaker’s Department Store in Philadelphia. She later worked in the gift shops at Nazareth Hospital and the Shrine of Saint Katharine Drexel for 20 years, where she formed a close relationship with the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. In her younger years, she enjoyed singing and dancing. She was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed politics. She especially loved spending time in Brigantine, NJ. She was an animal lover and was known for taking care of stray cats around her home.
She was the wife of the late Carl E. Weigand.
She is survived by two sons, Carl (Beverly) Weigand of Yardley and Dale (Barbara) Weigand of Berwyn; seven grandchildren, Jason, Brandon, Lauren, Brian, Allyson, Dara and Drew; and seven great grandchildren, Samantha, Cameron, Spencer, Colby, Cole, Bryce and Camilla.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Crean and brother, Ralph Moscoloni.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 10:30 AM from St. Dominic’s Church, 8504 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19136. The family will receive relatives and friends in church on Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM prior to Mass.
Interment will take place in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA.
