June 14, 1947 — August 24, 2025

Philadelphia

Kathleen A. Breslin of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025 in Doylestown, PA with her daughters by her side.

Kathleen (“Kas”) was born on June 14, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Dominic Branigan, Sr. and the late Eleanor (Miller) Branigan. She was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia before recently moving to Bucks County, PA.

Kathleen graduated from Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School, and, as a true lifelong learner, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science, and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Penn State University, all while raising her children and working fulltime as a Registered Nurse. She was an artist, a natural at crafting, avid reader, expert whistler, backyard birder, and adventurer at heart. She embraced life with curiosity and an emphatic “Yes!”, hiking glaciers in Alaska, diving on the Great Barrier Reef, visiting 49 of the 50 states, and nearly every antique shop, thrift store, and ice cream parlor in the tri-state area.

She was adored by her husband of more than 50 years, the late Daniel Breslin; her children Mark Breslin, Eleanor Breslin (Adam Meshkov) and Mary-Kate Martin (John); her grandchildren Harriet Meshkov, Madeleine Meshkov, Samuel Meshkov, Emily Martin and Elizabeth Martin; her siblings Dominic Branigan (Maria), Judith Bracale (late Leonard), and Louise (Polichetti) Bogart; many beloved nieces and nephews, and her dear machatunim. She is also survived by her cherished friend of 72 years, Nancy Duprey, and many dear friends and former nursing colleagues.

Visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 119 Rector Street, Philadelphia, PA 19127 on Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 9:00-10:15 am, with a funeral mass to begin at 10:30 am.

Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Philadelphia’s local public media station, WHYY, P.O. Box 900, Greencastle, PA 17225-0900 or 888-345-9499 would be appreciated.
