Lucia Russo, 89, of West Norriton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Sant’Angelo dei Lombardi, Italy, on September 3, 1936, the daughter of the late Michael and Angelina (Cona) Saggese.
Lucia immigrated to the United States with her husband, Ettore, in 1968 and settled in Jersey City, New Jersey. In 1972, they moved to Norristown, Pennsylvania, where they raised their family and became devoted parishioners of Holy Saviour Church.
Over the years, Lucia cared for the children of close family friends. She also spent many years working in the garment industry.
She enjoyed staying active and treasured her daily walks with her husband, Ettore. Each morning, she could often be found on her treadmill, faithfully praying the Rosary. She was a wonderful cook who showed her love through the meals she prepared for family and friends, bringing people together through food, laughter, and tradition. She had a deep love of music, especially Kenny Rogers, and enjoyed dancing with Ettore at the Holy Saviour Club.
Family was at the center of everything Lucia did. She found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved and creating lasting memories with them. Known simply as “Nonna” to her grandchildren, she cherished every moment spent with them and loved them with all her heart. Her grandchildren will always remember her signature goodbye: “I love you more, more, more.”
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ettore G. Russo of West Norriton; two daughters, Teresa (David) Ross of Norristown and Michele (Tommy) Morello of Pottstown; her son, Vincenzo (Bridget) Russo of Collegeville; her sister, Assunta Fasano; and her five beloved grandchildren, Ronald Polly III (Breanne Stevens), Michael Polly, Julian Russo, Sophia Russo, and Sylina Morello. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Lucia was preceded in death by ten siblings.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main Street, Norristown, PA 19401. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Monday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church.
Entombment will take place in Limerick Garden of Memories.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Holy Saviour Church at the above address.
