Mary Juliani

Mary Juliani passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 2, 1932 to Anthony Rossi and Mary Panico, the oldest of three children. Her early years were spent in New York and Washington DC, then the family settled in North Philadelphia where in high school, she met her future husband, Angelo. They were married in 1949 and had three children. Mary worked many jobs while she raised her children, including factory work, phlebotomist, EKG technician , and medical billing manager.

For many years Mary and Angelo enjoyed league bowling every Sunday night. Mary had the higher average (but you couldn't tell Angelo that!). They bowled with the "cousin's club," a group of lifelong friends who adopted Mary and Angelo as their cousins. They played pinochle together every week and saved their winnings for a fun vacation once a year. The games were sometimes heated, but the "cousins" always ended up as friends.

Mary often said, "I'm not a good cook, but I love to eat," her children and grandchildren strongly disagree with that assessment. She was famous for her Sunday pot of gravy and meatballs, melt in your mouth manicotti, chicken cutlets, pork sandwiches, cheese pie, potato chip cookies, pineapple bake, candied sweet potatoes, ricotta cheese cookies, pizzagaina, and many other simple and delicious dishes. She often hosted large crowds for Eagles games and always worried there wouldn't be enough food-but of course there was more than enough.

Mary was the rock and anchor for her family. There was always room in her home, her heart, and at her table for family, friends, and neighbors. Mary had a unique ability to only see the good side of people. No matter what happened she would say, "It's going to be fine," and when things were really tough, "What are you going to do?" and "You got to laugh," and then she did. Mary never lost her faith in God or her sense of humor. We relied on her faithful love, encouragement, constant concern, and many phone calls, "just checking in." She will be so missed!

She is survived by her brother, Aaron (Patricia) Domenico, her three children: Angelo Jr. (Barbara), Lawrence, and Carolyn Hartas; her grandchildren: Erica Hartas, Andy (Rebecca) Hartas, AJ (Katie) Juliani, Abigail (Jack) Forster, and Samuel (Christina) Juliani; and her great-grandchildren: Nina (Jared) Shelton; Andy, Gavin, and Anastasia Hartas; Kylie, Tucker, Mason, Kingsley, and Kennedy Juliani; Colby, Mackenzie, Dash, Rhodes, and Brooks Forster; and Evan Muniz, Beckett, Adalynn, and Violet Juliani. She was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony, her husband Angelo, Sr. and grandson Gabriel Juliani.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026
