Matthew Daniel Navea, age 54, of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

He was born in Pasay City, Philippines on December 3, 1971. Matthew immigrated to the United States at age 12 and lived in Lancaster before moving to the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, where he has lived for 30 years. He was an avid hockey fan and played collegiate hockey for Millersville University, where he met his wife Jeanne. Matt loved all types of music, especially local artists.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jeanne Navea (née Penko) of Philadelphia; two daughters, Maddie Navea and Katie Navea, both of Philadelphia; mother, Elizabeth (Dennis) Lackey of Lancaster; sister, Marissa (Keith) Mitchell of Lititz; and brother, Manuel (Sharon) Navea of Mount Joy. He is also survived by step brothers and sisters; as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Navea.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Wednesday, June 3, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McIlvaine Mundy Funeral Home & Crematory, 7384 Ridge Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19128; and in Church on Thursday, June 4, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 3667 Midvale Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19129.

His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 4 at 11:00 AM in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 3667 Midvale Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19129.

Interment will be private at a later date.
